Well this certainly explains why we don’t see eye to eye politically. I’m sorry if you don’t feel like you know who I am anymore. I’m just running the #s and we are looking at them with completely different realities.

The Federal Reserve wipes their asses with 6.9 billion everyday and it scares the living daylights out of me. They make this kind of statement to the public because they know that most people are not doing the math.

Maybe we can continue to run up debt forever and never pay it back (which by the way we have not done for 50 years.) Maybe we can continue to print and create dollars and not have to suffer the consequences (take a look at the money supply and think about how that works on a micro level.) Maybe the public can continue to reach higher and higher levels of credit card debt and it will never affect our economy (take a look at how much debt the public has run up in the last 30 years.) Maybe we can come up with the money to fund social security and Medicare for the retiring baby boomers (take a look at the charts that show the coming outlays for this.) They are all STAGGERING. Yes I used to be more about lower taxes, blah, blah, blah. But at some point, we are in for a juggernaut of a crash. It may not be next year, heck it may not be in 10 years. But history shows that it will happen. Rulers have been trying to do this for 1000’s of years and it has yet to work. The new school of thought requires a pretense of knowledge that I don’t think they have. Progressives always think they can outsmart their predecessors. I hope I’m wrong. But in the mean time, I am going to get in bed with every evangelical who is willing to take a stand on fiscal conservatism, limited government and free markets.

So anyway, bummer game last night. I’m surprised they gave Turner an extension. I bet there are some people in SD very upset about that.

I say we just shut this thing down. I don’t want to ruin a friendship over something like this. We are just coming at this with two completely different perspectives and priorities. I’ll just go back to clinging to my guns and religion and antipathy towards people not like me (oops I don’t have any of these 🙂 Ok, then I’ll just search out some more music, play some online poker and look at internet porn now that fantasy football is over. I’m good with that.

Nah, we don’t have to shut it down. Let’s just give it a rest for a while. I think in the big picture the American people are to blame. It is we who live on credit, who expect everything, who think athletes should be role models, who think politicians will always do the right thing, who think America is always right, who want it all without the bill, who think Lindsay Lohan is breaking news, who have no patience, who waste enormous amounts of energy and resources, who re-elect bad politicians, who want revenge more than cooperation, and maybe most of all have forgotten what humility is and what the really important things are. I don’t know who said it but “we get the government we deserve” and after being a fairly keen observer of this nation and culture, I think we are in the shapw we are in because we deserve it.

And yes, the fucking Chargers blew it…AGAIN!!
