Changing Parties

I have been an independent for a long time. I am going to change to the tea party.

Core Values
• Fiscal Responsibility
• Constitutionally Limited Government
• Free Markets

Oh God….you are aligning yourself with the Palins and Becks of the world. Good luck getting anyone elected.

I have no idea what their affiliations are with this. Last I checked, Palin was a Republican. It’s so funny you immediately focus on the media personalities that you so despise. It really shows how absolultely brainwashed you are.

What is it that you find wrong with fiscal responsibility, limited government and free markets? No mention of gays. Nothing about abortion.

Obviously I find nothing wrong with those things. What I find wrong is the “leadership” i.e. the messengers, and all the other things that they do or do not subscribe to beyond fiscal responsibility, free markets and limited government. Adittionally, it’s all about degree. How free, how limited. I don’t generally support or not support someone on their stance on how big government should be or how high taxes should be. I generally look at their positions in other areas such as the role of our military overseas, civil/human rights, race, their attitude about the US as fair and honorable leaders in the world, their comfort level with change in a quickly changing world. And I want my president to be knowledgeable, engaged, aware, worldly, etc…something that I cannot say for many of the Tea Party supporters who are mad that they don’t have jobs, mad that the “elite” are “controlling” the country, mad that they will soon be a minority, mad that they are out of power, mad that Christianity is always being “attacked”, mad that the “liberal” media don’t report “honestly”. They are just mad.

  5. urstupidnourstupid Says:

Well if it turns out to be what you say they are then I will remove myself from the tea party. I sent in an application to volunteer so I’ll give you the full and unbiased report!!

Another comment. You have some wonderful ideals that you look for in a candidate. Race. That’s a good one. Aware, worldly. Very nice.

How about honesty and integrity? How about doing what you say. All politicians are fallable. All politicians fall prey to traps that they put themselves in when on the campaign trail. But I reject the argument that everyone does it so it’s acceptable behavior.

I think you know what I meant about race…don’t be silly. As far as honesty and integrity of course they are important. I NEVER heard Bush say the buck stops with me. NEVER! And was HE honest? Was he worldly? Do you think Palin is honest about anything? Or wordly in ANY sense of the word? Aware?…ha ha…watch 60 Minutes tomorrow. Most of the health hearings are in Congress, not with Obama. And if he is breaking a promise about telivised hearings then yeah he should be held to his promise. I’m not gonna stick up for him about that, but it seems to me that if Congress and C-Span want to televise them, then they can do that.

  8. urstupidnourstupid Says:

I actually think Palin is honest about almost everything. I know you can scoop out a bunch of contradictions but I know that she would never, ever say that the health care debate would be on CSpan unless she absolutely meant it. And yes, this is congress, but if you make these beautiful speeches with these claims, you need to back it up with atleast a plea to congressional leaders to do so.

I honestly cannot believe that you are so hoodwinked by her. I am (almost) speechless that you believe in her personally, professionally, ethically or any other way. If she were any other less attractive woman from, say, Iowa, she’s be nothing. She is, in fact, an empty cranium who belongs nowhere near the world stage.

Here is a transcript of an interview in which she was asked TWO questions–and she lied in both responses. Just read it. PLEASE!! I implore you!!

And be sure to watch 60 Minutes tonight.

That’s some pretty powerful stuff there. And to think just a few years ago she would have been serving us coffee.
