I’m curious…

What, exactly, is your position on global warming? A complete hoax? Happening, but not man’s fault? Definitely not happening….never gonna happen…lies, all lies…a Liberal’s wet dream…

First I have to say that I consider myself an environmentalist. I believe we should regulate our industries and take necessary steps to promote a clean environment. I believe it is already happening in the private market place and we could easily be a catalyst with the right tax incentives.

Now I can’t say 100% matter of fact on this. But I don’t believe that global warming is man made. If you will recall, the environmentalists in the 70’s were telling us that carbon emissions would bring on a new ice age. If you look at long term historical records, the earth has been far warmer and colder than it is now. I also believe that the environment is a political tool used by anti-capitalist leftists who have moved from socialism to environmentalism. I don’t think the recent email gate or whatever you want to call it is a smoking gun, but I would say that there are some very serious ethical issues with the people who are studying this data.

But do you think the earth is warming? Photographic evidence…melting ice, etc?

  3. urstupidnourstupid Says:

What exactly do you mean by warming? Compared to when? In the last decade? No. In the last 100 years? Yes. In the last millenium? No.
I will admit that it is warmer today than it was yesterday.

Jesus, just answer the question…you know what I mean. Is it warming enough to affect your daughter’s generation to the point where humans should take some type of action to prevent that from happening. Will eco-systems be affecred? Will water levels rise?

  5. urstupidnourstupid Says:

It may warm enough to affect future generations but I don’t think it is primarily due to man (according to NASA.) When you do the math (read article) the whole cap and trade, kyoto and copenhagen thing looks insane.

I am in favor of moving towards alternative energy with tax incentives, etc… I am not in favor of Obama’s drastic cap and trade that will drive up America’s utility bills. I am not in favor of giving 10 billion a year to 3rd world countries to fight global warming like the insane EU. I am not in favor of putting the coal companies out of business like Obama said he wants to do. I am in favor of giving incentives to make coal more efficient and cleaner. I am in favor of cafe standards, nuclear power and incentivizing conversion to natural gas.

What do you think other than I don’t know but we shouldn’t chance it?

  6. urstupidnourstupid Says:

Well I’m not in favor of dismissing lots and lots of science just because I’m “conservative.” I would not give 3rd world nations money either. But I would have no problem seeing the coal industry die out…and the oil industry (when we have vialable alternatives) I would push for nuclear energy too–and I would raise gas taxes.

    “When we have viable alternatives”

I wish Obama felt the same way.
