another upgrade

I find it very comforting to know that our exalted legislators will have the flexibility to go where they need to go when they need to go.

Not that this matters.

Damn…and now with that lefty in power! If only Conservatives had had some type of legislative or executive power over the last 8 years, this never would have…oh wait…nevermind.

I would be pissed at either party. Why does everyone get a pass because the Republicans did it? We have the highest budget deficit ever and they order private planes to get around? That doesn’t make you the least bid disturbed?

That’s the thing…I’m not sure. Clinton’s plane was donated by a private citizen. Which, to me, is a little embarrasing because he was on official international business. But on the other hand, it didn’t cost taxpayers anything, so…I don’t know. I don’t think Senators and diplomats should be taking Greyhound, or flying around in vintage aircraft, but I think perks should be kept to a minimum.

The reason why Clinton had to find use his own transportation was because they had to keep up the appearance that this was a non-governmental humanitarian effort. Vintage aircraft???? How about the airlines? Newt Gingrich said that when he was speaker he few commercial all the time. WTF. These people don’t deserve $500,000,000.00 for 3 aircraft so they can fly wherever they want. This is fucking ridiculous!!!!!!!!!

To be honest, I had assumed the gov’t already had some of these aircraft and they were just replacing them. What does the Sec’y of State use on official business, military aircraft? Obviously there is Air Force 1 and Air Force 11 and Marine 1…I just sort of thought there were some others. Of course if they are travling from home to DC or whatever, they should take the airlines. And they do. So yes, I agree. If these are a new perk, then I don’t think they should be purchased. I think Obama cancelled some new helicoptors a few months ago due to the cost. The gov’t should cancel these too.
