Which conservatives are you talking about? I didn’t even know what birther was. I had to google it. Are you on the racist Cambridge police bandwagon like your fellow liberals?

  2. urstupidnourstupid Says:

I guess you are a bit out of the loop. Anyway, some mainstream Conservatives are raising the birth certificate issue again and/or not dismissing it so as to fan the flames of the right wing nuts. . Check out this clip…funny as hell.

  3. urstupidnourstupid Says:

Funny how you say mainstream conservatives like its conventional wisdom among them. What do you think is more conventional wisdom: Mainstream conservatives believe Obama is not a U.S. citizen or mainstream liberals believe the Cambridge police are racists?

  4. urstupidnourstupid Says:

I certainly don’t think the Cambridge Police are racist. Nor do I think that the one cop is racist. But I do think that when a homeowner is inside his own home, the cop should walk away…don’t you? How can you be arrested for disorderly conduct in your own home? The man is the rightful owner, there is no crime–the cop should have left. End of story. I guess now you are going to claim that the cop was right? You, the conservative–the Libertarian?

Did you know that nine Republicans in Congress have suddenly drafted a bill making it a requirement that future presidents must show a birth certificate? I’d say that’s pretty mainstream. They all say “I haven’t seen the documentation” when it’s readily available or “To the best of my knowledge…” Why don’t they say “The Pres. is a US citizen. Let’s move on to real issues.”? Because that’s the way this group of Republicans in Congress and conservative pundits operate. Palin is a great leader, but Obama is an illegal Socialist. Give me a break!!

Please tell me you think it’s bogus issue.

  5. urstupidnourstupid Says:

Of course it’s a bogus issue. I agree with Neal Boortz who did talk about it yesterday. He thinks these are the same people that think jet trails are poisoning us.

In regards to Gates, you really don’t have the fully story (mainstream media). I won’t go into it but it doesn’t surprise me that this is your view. You can read the police report if you are really interested.

  6. urstupidnourstupid Says:

What was the crime? Being obnoxious on your own property to people who think you are a burgler?

“Yeah…handcuff him and take him in!”
    “But this is HIS home”
“Doesn’t matter. He yelled at me. Arrest that man!”

20 years ago you went to class with “No Justice…No Peace” boldly emblazoned across your T-shirt. What happened to that guy?

  7. urstupidnourstupid Says:

Because I just don’t see it that way anymore, do you? I don’t hear or see very many code words, under your breath comments, eye rolling, nasty looks towards people who look different. I’m not saying it isn’t there. I’m just saying it isn’t predominant in our society. I work with lots of african-americans and latinos. We don’t have issues and I don’t see people being held back because of the color of their skin.
This man was breaking into his own home so someone called the cops. And all of a sudden he was screaming racism because a cop wanted to see some ID. Believe me, I’ll call it when I see it. But this isn’t it and to even hint that it in this case is a typical liberal practice. Racism helps advance their causes.

  8. urstupidnourstupid Says:

As I said I don’t think the cop is racist. I think he would have done the same thing to you or me. That’s my problem. The cop was embarrassed or disrespected or whatever and overplayed his hand. That’s all I’m saying. But maybe the 60-year-old black man saw it differently–that HE was being disrespected. I’m sure he has a completely different angle on race relations than we do. Obama probably shouldn’t have said what he said, but I think he was right. The cop acted stupidly.

  9. urstupidnourstupid Says:

That 60 year old black man who is a professor at Harvard took advantage of the situation and purposely started a race issue that wasn’t there. How can he see it differently? It’s basic logic. A cop responds to a call and asks very basic questions. Are you saying black people cannot logically deduce the situation because of his background? That is such BS. Instead of focusing on the cop, the focus should be on the professor. He is the one who acted stupidly and irresponsibly. The problem is that when this type of thing is addressed, it is automatically tagged as racist when it is the exact opposite. It is perfectly logical to say that the professor was out of line and race bating. But liberals can’t see it that way. They defend this type of behavior by calling anyone who speaks out as racist or they say the black man is suppressed and has a different world view.

  10. urstupidnourstupid Says:

How can he see it differently? What kind of question is that? That’s the stupidest question I’ve ever heard. You don’t think this guy lived through a bunch of BS that you and I cannot even imagine? Not as much now–we both agree–but any 60 year old man has had negtive experienes in this country and with law enforcement. For God’s sake man our own Pres. is the target of racist comments, actions, inneundos, etc. If he can’t get a little respect…

So this guy lies in wait…for 60 years…becomes a Harvard professor…until he forgets his keys…breaks into his own home…hopes a neghbor sees him and calls the police…and hopes a white officer responds…and SEIZES his opportunity to have his life turned upsie down by the media by insulting an armed white cop? Brilliant, Scott.

It seems at this point in your life you will take any anti-“liberal”, anti-Obama, pro-conservative stance even at the risk of losing credibility, like supporting Palin. If this had happened to Shannen or your mom or was personal in any way, you’d be all over the cop for not using his training to de-escalate the situation; to shrug off the disrespect and find the right thing to do. The right thing to do was NOT to arrest a man who was in violation of NO law, and was in his own house.

Yes. That is exactly what he did. You keep focusing on the arrest but the real travesty is how he reacted to a simple police inquiry. If you think about this step by step from the beginning. It is the only logical answer. And Obama the eunich has really put his foot in his mouth on this one.

You think I’m insane in the membrane don’t you? Dude it’s so funny how we can come to completely different conclusions on something like this. I don’t think race is the predominant issue that separates liberals from conservatives but I do think that this is a good example of how each camp approaches subject matter and how their deep seeded predispositions affect their/our opinions.

Here is another opinion you might find surprising. I think that liberal elites, thinkers, politicians and media pundits are more racist than conservatives from the same group.

  12. urstupidnourstupid Says:

Cat got your tungue? I know it sounds completely crazy to you. I might be overstating it a bit but I do think that liberal thought is a partial power play and is partially based on the concept that certain races cannot become accomplished without a hand up. Another thing I see liberals do is demonize anyone from one of these races who dare to have a different opinion. They are so shocked that these people have alternative opinions.

    Start at one minute: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FE_jGD5nZ6U

  13. urstupidnourstupid Says:

Actually yes, a cat did have my tongue for a couple days…but different species. So…Yes I am primarily focusing on the legal aspect, as I see this as a legal matter–NOT a racist one as I stated. The cop had no LEGAL right to arrest anybody–black, yellow or purple as the link will show you. The prof. did act stupidly as did Obama. But that is NOT a crime. Nobody should have been arrested. That is my point.

  14. urstupidnourstupid Says:

“Here is another opinion you might find surprising. I think that liberal elites, thinkers, politicians and media pundits are more racist than conservatives from the same group”

So how many of those Liberal “elites” are asking for Obama’s birth certificate? And drafting legislation about it? How many previous presidents have been put under this native born citizen BS?

“I agree with Neal Boortz who did talk about it yesterday. He thinks these are the same people that think jet trails are poisoning us.” So Republican Congressmen, Lou Dobbs, Glenn Beck, Rush, Hannity et al believe jet trails are poisoning us? Hmmmm…they are waaaay out there!!

  15. urstupidnourstupid Says:

Just saw this…but no…there’s no racism in police deptartments. Bury your head my friend–bury it deep.

  16. urstupidnourstupid Says:

Ok I’m back online now. I’m not saying racism doesn’t exist. And it appears the department took this action very seriously. I’m just saying it’s not predominant in our society. I will get off this subject since the beer summit is over, but I still think what Gates did was deliberate and uncalled for.

  17. urstupidnourstupid Says:

Maybe deliberate, maybe uncalled for. NOT illegal. You are so wrong on this one and the “birther” movement as well. I would change the subject too!! 🙂

  18. urstupidnourstupid Says:

That’s not what he was arrested for but whatever. I’m sure you already know that but you just didn’t write it correctly. Right? Whatever, forget it. I’ll move on.
