Your opinion?

Obama can deliver a speech, that’s for damn sure. I’m sure you know what I thought overall. How about you?

Why does Jindal speak as if he’s reading from “The Cat in the Hat?”

Great speech. His presentation, speaking skills and body language are absolutely exceptional. I know what you thought overall. Of course no comments on any of the details again.

But I disagree completely with his solutions to all of the problems that he outlined. I also find him disengenuous in a few areas. He talks about not letting in earmarks in next years budget. Take a look at the budget coming up for a vote soon. He talks about shedding light on legislation yet the stimulus bill was crammed through super fast.

Here is a quick look at how I disagree:

American jobs: Obama: govt spending, card check (more unions)
Me: tax incentives, no card check (fewer unions)

Energy: Obama: executive order to close down oil drilling,
    govt. spending on alternative energy
Me: open up oil drilling, tax incentives for private
    industry to research alternative energy
Education: Obama: federal govt. spending on education at all
all levels (debt that the students pay back
    in the future). Personal responsibility.
    Me: Personal responsibility. Culture.
Government: Obama: part of the solution
    Me: part of the problem

Jindal was terrible. There is no conservative voice out there that is good enough to re-educate America.

    few more:

Health care: Obama: government spending, government control of
    health care
Me: privatize health care and make it each citizen’s
responsibility to buy their own policies like auto
insurance. health care savings accounts. safety

Auto industry: Obama: Keep bailing them out (I think)
Me: Let them go into bk and rework all contracts with
    employees, suppliers, etc….

Foreclosure bailout: Obama: govt. spending (just passed)
Me: let the banks work it out (been doing that
    for a year).

In the last 6 months tax payers have bailed out the banks, the auto industry, State’s budget deficits, homeowners. This is insane. Why are we putting our fate in the hands of China to bail out a bunch of fucking losers. See Hillary’s comments when she went to China, which by the way is the most telling quote from this administration that indicates the serious trouble we are in.

I didn’t put details because I missed the last 15 minutes (caught the rerun later) and frankly I didn’t see the point. But I saw a guy who knows what the hell is going on; has a plan; who speaks intelligently to citizens, blah, blah, blah. And if you think appearance and delivery are not important, just compare him to Jindal. Anyway, I don’t care if I don’t agree with all his policies, and I don’t agree with them all. I voted for him because he is competent and represents a, in my opininon, positive change in the direction of this country. I guarantee this country will be better off in four years than it is now, barring of course, some freak occurance. I think the Republicans are a mess and basically inconsequential at this point. You can’t push the message if you don’t have a competent messenger–and Jindal embarrassed himself and the party last night, while Obama’s speech was very impressive.

I don’t give a flying fuck about parties. They are irrelevant. Government either takes an action that is good or bad for the country. A politician either stands for what is right or what is wrong and it is based entirely on my opinion.

  5. urstupidnourstupid Says:

Not really sure what that means, but ok…

  6. urstupidnourstupid Says:

My point is that I look at policy and you look at the surface of a party that you identify with. I am questioning what Hillary Clinton said in China. Or earmarks that Obama had the balls to chastise on national television two days before a budget proposal loaded with them. But he knows nobody is going to question him other than radio chatter who are all a bunch of lunatics.

  7. urstupidnourstupid Says:

Don’t “whatever” me…it’s not my fault that those whose principles you subscribe to got drunk with power and couldn’t control their spending–abandoning their “principles”–and didn’t have the balls to stand up to an idiot President, leading us to the mess we are in. I think your anger and protests are misplaced. You voted for Bush remember? And probably Republican right down the line. And I’m sorry that your savior from Louisiana looked like a retard in front of millions, coming after an excellent speech which was highly regarded by the vast majority. You seem to be on the wrong side of things.
